And many more......

May age 31 bring many more joys and adventures into my life.

Reading is Fun: Infinity

Just read a terrible teen sci-fi/horror novel about shapeshifters and vampires set in New Orleans.  Despite my complaints I couldn't put it down, so I guess it served it's purpose.  Let's just wait until the make it into a movie;)

This has been a LONG week.  Seems like every little thing that could go my way or the other decided to go the other and I just can't seem to shake it off.  Even the little things that truly don't matter.  I think the cure for this is some serious cuddle time with my 4 favorite cuddlers - Fel, Bella, Elo, and Jackson.  My plan is to squeeze the 5 of us into bed this weekend to relax, snuggle, and listen to some Pandora radio.

Friday!

It has been a pretty awesome week.  I've had time to go feed Bella lunch 3 days this week and get some admin stuff done at my desk (even accidentally-on-purpose wandered over to the J.Crew Factory sale and picked up 4 lovely items that should hopefully arrive this weekend!)  I'm excited for all the pops of color to cast some light on this dreary winter.  This weekend GG and Gpa are coming to visit!  Have 2 yummy recipes planned that I will post on later.  Happy friday!

Reading is fun: The Life of Pi

Just finished this book this evening - - AMAZING!  It was one of those books that is very hard to put down.  I found myself giving Bella a longer mealtime just so I could read a few more pages.  Next time you see her she just may have rounder cheeks.

Now, the only question is  - - - do I watch the movie?

Lounging

It's amazing how strong and awesome this little lady has gotten.  She loves lounging in front of the tele (just like her papa) and standing and stretching her legs (just like her mama).
Today we cleaned house together in the Baby bjorn.  I'm off to sell some clothes @ Fashionista Exchange and then a meeting with our financial planner will round out the day.  Goodbye 4 day weekend, it's been swell.

Hooray for a 3 day weekend!

Friday was a total lemon of a day - one mini-disaster lead to another and another (got charged 3 times for my airline tickets, locked out of our online credit card account, cut my finger on some broken glass in my car - - how did that get there????, and spilled an entire bottle of freshly pumped milk down my skirt @ work). . . . .the trend continued yesterday with Elo knocking my pump off the table and breaking the faceplate which is a rather crucial piece.  Sigh.

On the bright side, Fel has only had to round so he gets to come home early and hang out with Bella and I.  Yesterday I went to a Baby Bootcamp class with Bella that kicked my butt and had a great time meeting other mommies.  For a treat Fel, Bel, and I went for a walk downtown and shared a delcious piece of raspberry rhubarb pie ala mode.

Making this yummy looking recipe today - - Spinach tabbouleh.

Movies

Fel got us some Netflix, so we cozied down with our risotto and watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi, a fascinating documentary about a man of devotes his life to making perfect sushi.  It was quite inspiring, though I can't imagine carrying quite the same devotion through to my career.

Breakfast & dinner

The perfect way to start and end the day -- home cookin'.

First up is are gingerbread donuts with caramel sauce.
To finish the day, a baked barley butternut squash risotto.

Weekend!

Almost the weekend.  Fel, Bel, and I have good things planned.  I'm going to make a yummy kale salad for dinner tonight.  Tomorrow we are going on a date!  (Fel's planning, so it will be a suprise.) Sunday we are getting family pictures.  The donuts were such a hit last weekend I may try to make a new recipe if I get a chance.  Who doesn't have time for donuts???

A Case of the Mondays

Super rough day at work today, but this little pic gave me the motivation to persevere (and knowing I had a crockpot full of chili just waiting to be eaten with cheese, sour cream and fritos on top!)

Saturday

Baked maple donuts in my new donut pan!
AND some all-star wrestling!

Cutie pie

How cute is this little lady?  I'm smitten.  Evidently she has learned to roll over.  This marks the end of leaving her on the bed while I go grab a glass of water.  Gotta keep a close eye on this rolypoly.
Tomorrow I have plans to lounge in my supersoft new pj's then make Fel some donuts in my new donut pan.  After that I'm getting all dolled up for Fel's belated work Christmas party.
Next weekend we are getting family portraits!  I'm zuper excited while he is super dreading it

Reading is Fun: If You Have to Cry, Go Outside

I was a HUGE fan of The Hills, which first introduced Kelly Cutrone.  Couldn't resist picking up her book.  It was a quick read, and not quite what I was expected.  She has a lot more heart than comes across on the tele.

Happy New Year!
