Visit from bisabuela

Had a very fun visit from bisabuela yesterday.  So fun that Bella skipped her afternoon nap!  She broke out all her best tricks - walking w/ her car, putting on shoes, climbing on the bumbo, rolling over, "brain kisses", eating a monster amount of fruit, smooches.  This girl is a little princess already.  Besos for all the lovely clothes, they will be perfect this fall!

Miss Bella wore shoes for the first time today - - -

She just adores putting them on, and then turning right around and taking them off.  This was the first time they stayed on, which lasted about 5 minutes.

Bella got her first mail on Monday - new outfits from Abuela!  She had so much fun opening her pressie.  Muchas gracias!!!

10 months

This little lady is giving us a run for our money lately.  Her sleep patterns are off and she is purposefully being ornery - biting momma and pinching the kitties.  I think she's working on something big (like walking or those missing bottom teeth.)

Current faves - blackberries, walking, swinging @ City Park, the swimming pool (maybe!), big kids

Current dislikes - baths, getting her diaper changed, naps

Monday

Had an amazing 3-day weekend with GG and Gpa Bill.  They were such gracious company - eating leftovers twice(!), babysitting so Fel and I could go on our 1st Manhattan date (went to see Elysium), and taking us out to donuts on Sunday morning.

Bella had a blast.  She got to go to City Park and swing twice and made countless laps around the living room on her car.

I love the family picture fail.  This lady will not sit still!

Kitchen fun

In the summer heat you can't beat an easy and delish crockpot recipe, especially if it comes served on Hawaiian rolls. The hubby and I both like ours Carolina style with a scoop of slaw. Bella had hers straight up. 

It was rainy last Sunday, so we stayed in for our donuts. Unfortunately they were easier on the eyes than the tongue. 

The Great Playhouse

On Fel's last day of summer vacation we got a little crafty and made Bella a playhouse out of one of our moving boxes.  This far the kitties seem to like it better than she does, but soon I think she will love it.  Right now Minnie Mouse is living in it and her big scary alligator is guarding the front door.

The inspiration came from Pinterest, but man, nothing I make ever looks like Pinterest.

The great outdoors

Bella had her first wilderness adventure the other day when we went for a walk on the trail at the park.  I think she liked it!  

(Granted the wilderness lasted all of 30 feet, but it was a pretty awesome 30 feet.)

Abuelo and Abuela gifted Bella with this awesome car that she just can't get enough of.

Babymoon trip to Columbia (someday we'll make it to Colombia) and Gloria threw me a baby shower where Bella got one of her favorite toys - an "ipad."

Lots of moonlighting and celebrated Felipe's 30th birthday (it was a night to remember!)

Worked a lot, posted very little, but did have time for some Yelp fun.

Adopted Jackson (who we first named Jasper) and exceeded resident duty hours.

Found my first grey hairs, did a lot of cooking for my fiance, set the location for our destination wedding, and made the cover of Kansas Family Physician.
