Dinner tonight was much like the Very Hungry Caterpillar story. . . .

First she ate one burrito, next one chicken leg, then one cracker with cheese, then one pint of blackberries, and then some teddy grahams. . . . .

A full & fun weekend

Whew!  You know it's going to be a rough Monday when you are more exhausted leaving the weekend than when you started.  Friday GG and Gpa Bill came to town - they got to see my office (which is coming along nicely) and pick Bella up from daycare.  I think she did a double take when they came through the door.  I had a delish soup in the crockpot for dinner and we all relaxed.  

Saturday was full of fun.  I cooked up a million pancakes for breakfast, we played outside, took naps, and then Fel and I went to a Mardi Gras party.  Wow!  (I was barely that much fun in college, this old momma could not keep up with the revelry.)  Embarrassingly enough, we had to call my dad to come pick us up at the early hours of 1030.

Today I had a work retreat (aka long business meeting).  I'm quite thoroughly drained and have a full week of work starting tomorrow morning.  But there are a few things to look forward to - - my first NatureBox delivery and my second Stitch Fix.

Riding in style

Yesterday daycare was closed for the holiday - after a lot of stress and scrambling we found a wonderful sitter to add to our rotation.  Sounds like her and Bella had a blast (I think she wore B out, she took a 3 hour nap!)  Fel got off a little early to relieve the babysitter and the two of them headed out to the park for some fun in the sun.

I like big bows and I cannot lie. . . .

Bella wanted to wear my red suede booties, but has a ways to go before she can make it in heels.

She made me a supercute necklace, which was quite fitting because I almost lost my noodles in clinic today.  (I was on call and saw a record # of patients, many of whom where quite trying, whew!)

Fel surprised me with a gorgeous rose and some of my favorite snackies.

Monday, Monday

Bella learned a new word. . . . .

"Neh!"  - - - this is her version of no.  She says it with emphasis several times a day, throwing in the more than occasional head shake.  Gotta love this girl!

Snow Day (part 2)

Daycare was closed again today - big sigh.  It would be so much easier if everyone would get together and decide if they were going to be closed or open.  It's too hard having some things closed (daycare) while other are open (work.)  If I didn't feel guilty enough calling in yesterday, I've now had to call-in twice (which means my day off tomorrow is no longer a day off - we've used it to reschedule patients, then I still have to drive to topeka for doc-of-the-day @ the capital).

But there are a few blessings in all the chaos: the pictures below, my nurses's husband plowed our drive for us, and Fel stayed home with Bella this am so I could go in for a half-day.

Snow Day

Daycare was closed today and we couldn't get a sitter - - - so it was a Snow Day for momma!  (I'm quite glad I didn't have to get out in this weather, but I feel terrible for letting down my patients).

Bel and I have a pot of potato soup simmering on the stove, had an impromptu dance party (she loves to DJ papa's clock radio), and even jumped in the snow.

Fun & Friend-filled weekend!

We got outside of our lazy-days stay-at-home comfort zone this weekend and had a blast!  (New years resolution #1 achieved, now we just have to maintain our fun factor).

Friday we went over to one of our Manhattan friend's house for dinner - Bella was little miss social and had so much fun playing with her friend Oliver while mom and pop noshed on some delish Chicken Pot Pie.

Saturday 2 of Felipe's colleage days couples came up with their kiddos for the weekend.  It was total chaos (but in the best possible way).  We played all day Saturday, watched the KU game (boo), and then went swimming at the hotel pool before we all collapsed exhausted.

Looking Back

2008.

Got engaged! And then promptly bought Felipe a PS3, gotta reward the guy for a job well done.  If I ever get done changing dirty diapers this gorgeous thing is going right back on my finger.

2009.

The twins were born - can't believe they are 5 this year!  I got my dream car, Daphne.  We miss you Weezer.
