Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Finished up Bella's cowl just in time, fall is right around the corner.

These boots were made for walking. . . . .

Still needs the boots, but she's got the walking!

Mac & cheese

Okay, so I played a little trick on our little lady. This delightful dish does contain macaroni and cheese. But, it gets its bright orange hue from puréed carrots. Score!  Stay tuned for more "sneaky Mac" recipes.

Bella and her wagon

Whoa!  Thanks abuelo and abuela for the tricked out wagon.

Brush Your Teeth

Sometimes she can't decide whether to sing into her hairbrush, brush her hair, or brush her teeth.

Working overtime @ the office

Ugh, still recovering from this terrible stomach bug.  Thank goodness Miss B didn't catch it (and that my parents were here to help out!).

Month 11

This little lady got an early birthday pressie - a playset.  She loves it, and gives me and Fel mini heart attacks everytime she plays on it.

Fun and not so fun things this month - Miss Bella has become an independent woman.  Whoa!  This girl does not want help with anything (wonder where she gets that from?)  She's started pointing at what she wants.  She loves her carbs - bread, baked oatmeal, any flavor of puffs.  She's about the let go of the furniture and venture out on her own, any day now I predict (as I've been predicting for the past few weeks).  She loves to pretend to talk on the phone and helps put her clothes on and off.  She likes to help out around the house by pulling all the clean clothes out of the dryer.

One more month and we won't be counting months anymore. . . .

Making a point

Miss Bella has learned to point.  She points at the cat, at my dinner, at her papa, at specks of dirt on the floor.  Sometimes it hard to figure out what she is pointing at.  Mr. T is pretty good at pointing too.

whos awesome? You're awesome

Building a Wardrobe

Sigh. . . . .after 26 years of school it's time to be a professional.  On the bright side this means time for a new look!  I'm such a sucker for makeovers.

Step 1 - Hair.  I've got a hair appt next week for some low maintenance high-lights/low-lights to cover up my sparkles.  Also working on growing out my sassy asymmetrical 'do into a more classic bob.
January Jones Bob

Step 2 - Makeup.  I love shopping for makeup, buying makeup, dreaming of makeup.  Just don't really like wearing it.  I think my trademark is going to be a bright lip - let's me slack off on the eyeshadow and blush;)

Step 3 - Wardrobe!  This is the most fun and definitely hardest part.  Found this awesome building a wardrobe series, which I started today.  I've gotten my summer clothes sorted and pulled, tomorrow I'll go through the winter stuff and then I get to "define my look!"

Snuggle Time

Who's that little lady?  Certainly not our little Bella who never sits still, not even for a moment.

Miss Bella's snuggly little twin had a lovely time in Kansas City yesterday with bisabuela, abuela, abuelo, and uncle andy.  She devoured blackberries, raspberries, and watermelon.  She's becoming a little fruity like her momma.

Looking Back

2008.
Took Step 2, knitted Elo a sweater, bought our 1st Garmin (which has never been updated), went to Hutch for the State Fair (cousin Mason was only 9 months old!) and did a lot of cooking.  Quite a busy month on the blog.

2009.
Completed the couch to 5k running plan, maybe it's time to give it another go?  Also went to the Heart concert at the State Fair with Emily and had a blast!

2010.
Spent the month @ Fort Riley delivering babies and got to spend 2 weekends in Hutch with fam and attend the Stoughton family reunion.  Hutchinson seems to be the theme for September.  Can we keep it up in 2011 and 2012?

2011.
Went to Orlando for Chief Resident leadership training, read a few novels (loved Wicked!), had a craft day with my girlfriends where we spray painted a bunch of tschotskes gold, interviewed for geriatrics fellowship, got our first delivery for Door to Door Organics (too bad they don't come to Manhattan, though I suppose it makes me actually get out and go to the farmer's market), Felipe got to have a jam session with his buddy @ their baby shower.

2012.
Was as big as a house (almost!), finished knitting Bella's baby blanket (which has since been passed on to another sweet baby), and did some nesting.
