We're card carrying members. . . . .

. . . . .of the Flint Hills Discovery Center.  This place is awesome!  You've already seen photos of us playing in the fountains outside, but here's a peek of the fun to be had inside.  They also have a movie theatre that shoes a documentary about the history of the prairie complete with dry ice fog, warm gusty breezes, and faux snow.  I think this is going to be the perfect place to beat the summer heat or the winter snow.

Bumbo action

After a rather long hiatus the bumbo chair is back in vogue (as are overalls per the first photo).  She likes to try to climb into/onto the chair and then pop out.  Her cute little thighs always get stuck, as they are supposed to, so she needs an extra boost from momma.

Coloring is so fun!

Bella's first coloring adventure @ our favorite donut shop.  (It actually appears to be the only donut shop in Manhattan thus far.)  Nonetheless, I think it would still be our favorite.

Weekend Update

I got several projects completed this week - 

1.  I pushed everything over to the 3rd side of the garage, leaving the double side wide open for TWO cars.  Now fel and I both get to park in the garage, so on sweltering hot days the car is hot rather than sweltering as it has been.

2.  Organized most of the books in the office by color.  Forget the dewey decimal system, color is in!  Unfortunately we ended up with 2 unpacked boxes and 2 full bookshelves.  Going to have to force myself to go to walmart to pick up a third.

3.  Made it to the Wednesday evening farmer's market - picked up some amazing cherry tomatoes!

4.  Got a trim - working towards growing my hair out into a bob ala Gwyneth.

5.  Had a playdate reuniting with Liz (one of my best friends in grade school I haven't seen for almost 10 years!)  So much fun catching up and introducing our kids to each other.  Bella even tried to give Easton a kiss!  XOXO.

Of course there was lots of swinging, lots of eating, splashing in fountains, reading books, snuggling in bed - - - our usual fun.  It's been such a joy having our family all together this month with no one working or having any major responsibilities.

9 months!

This little lady is growing up fast.

Fun things: pulling herself up to standing, furniture walking, swinging at the park, being upside down, grinning and shower her 4 front teeth

Dislikes and other naughty bits: being buckled into her car seat, baths in the sink, throwing woobanubs over the edge of the crib and pretending he "fell out", picking the tiniest specks of things off the floor to eat (momma needs to get a swiffer STAT!)

Fun with GG and Gpa Bill

Last weekend we also got a visit from GG and Gpa Bill - Gpa rewired the dryer and GG helped put shelf liner in all the kitchen cabinets and drawers.  Luckily there was still time for fun.  We made it to story time at the library, the farmer's market, and the park!

Bella likes to read!

This little lady LOVES to read!  So sweet.  We took her to Story time this weekend at the library and she was the most gregarious kiddo out there. 

A Visit from Abuelo, Abuela, and Tia

We are starting to get settled her in Manhattan - really only have a few boxes left (books, shoes, diplomas, and photos) but lots to organize and put away.  We've checked out Target, Walmart, Dillons, Panera, Noodles & Company, Dairy Queen, Creche (daycare), the library, and the park thus far.  I should have snapped some pics last Monday when we moved in, but was too overwhelmed.  I'll try to get some up this week.  For before pics click here.

2012.

Worked on the nursery, wore some awesome tshirts, started fellowship, and traveled to Baltimore for AMDA training.

2011.

Fel turned 30 with a bang!  I worked 220 hours before July 22nd

2010.

Invited friends and family for a housewarming party at our 1st home and survived my 1st nightfloat.

2009.

Was featured in the KC Star, picked up a duvet @ Crate and Barrel (which we still love!), and got up at 445 every morning to work in the ICU as a fresh intern.

2008.

Did a LOT of cooking, had fun decorating Janssen place, started our wedding website, and met Jill, who became one of our closest friends.
