snap happy sunday

With all the socializing yesterday, we holed up in our house today and took it easy.  We did manage to snap some fabulous pics of the kiddos.  They are growing so fast!  Bella's logic and explanations always makes me giggle.  Leo has a voracious appetite and will be crawling any minute.

super fun saturday. . . . . .

Saturday started quite early.  Both kids were up by 6 (I think they were excited to start the day).  We had 3 of our good friend families over for brunch.  The parents chatted, the kids played, we munched on panckes.  There were no tears = success!  (And we had so much fun we forgot to take pictures.)

After, we ran to the splash park for bella's first birthday party invite.  Lily, a neighbor, was turning 3 and she had a mermaid party.  She dominated the bouncy house and destroyed some pink cake.  

After some quick naps (her 1st nap in undies!) we grabbed some marshmallows and chocolate and headed to they lake for our first impromptu day camping trip.  Leo love crawling around in the dirt, he's such a boy already!

7 months

Better late than never, right?  This little guy is 7 months + 6 days old.  He's getting great at putting himself to sleep (still working on staying asleep.)  He loves spaghetti and watermelon.

Lawrence

Had a successful family road trip to lawrence yesterday.  The kiddos slept on the way out and back, which gave me time to finish the novel I was reading.  Lunch at freestate, icecream at sylas and maddy's, and good times with old friends.  (And Fel bought a banjo!) This has gotten me very excited for the beach!

I held out for 6 months, but Leo has been pulling my hair like crazy so I finally gave in and shortened things up.  Didn't think about it at the time, but later as I drove to go see Leo I was so worried he wouldn't recognize me.  It took a few moments and some weird looks before he figured it out, but no tears!

Both of our kids love school.  I love knowing they are getting to play, read, learn, and eat a healthy meal.  Bella always blows me away with the new things she has learned in school - some from her friends and some from her teachers.  Leo seems to enjoy "messy play."
