on vacation

Gosh!  It's been ages since I've thrown up a post.  Last week Fel and I took a much needed tropical getaway, and this week we've been playing catch up.  And now I'm on call. . . I need another vacation!

A very productive, fun, and exhausting weekend!

My folks made it to town Friday, just in time to celebrate their birthday's and anniversary @ Harry's.  Later, Fel and I snuck out for another try at Locked Manhattan.  This time we just barely made it out.  Such a thrill!  The adrenaline kept me awake (and Facebook and Pinterest and Instagram) way too late and Saturday morning came way too early.

Saturday we burned off some energy in the park, then I actually got to hang out with my parents and have adult conversation.  What a treat!  We also got rid of some old tv's, cleaned the car seats (so gross!), and I got my hair trimmed.  Fel and I had another superfun date night at the golf course wearing hats and bow ties at a derby themed party.

Today was another whirlwind of fun and adventure.  Leo had a blast at the grocery store and Fel in love with a container of rainbow hued tomatoes.  B and I made it to the library and Fel got some time to lounge around the house.

Superhero!

Today Bella and I went to a Superhero carnival for autism awareness.  She had a blast with all the activities, running around with her friends chasing bubbles and jumping in the bounce house.

Leo is back to his mischievous self, and both of my kiddos are WAY into their momma right now.  Perhaps if I had about 8 arms I'd be able to manage.  Poor Fel.  We beat the rain this morning and managed to have some great fun at the playground.

Movie night!

Poor Leo came down with a yucky 24 hour GI bug on Thursday.  Luckily Glo was in town practicing Creche dropoff/pickup so she helped nurse him back to health.  Since everyone was worn out, we started a new tradition of family movie night with picnic dinner.  Leo was obsessed with popcorn, B loved watching Princess Tiana.

Garden!

Gosh!  The days have flown by and another week is gone without a single blog post.  Last Sunday we got our garden started.  There was no good clean fun to be had, just regular old dirty fun.

The weekend

Fel & I survived our double-call weekend (barely).  I don't think I'm up for giving it a second try.  Between the 2 of us, we had 7 calls Friday night from when we went to bed to when we woke up - - -ugh!  I don't think Leo even woke us up that much when he was a little guy!

Here's a few pics. . . . . .only managed to snap a few and it appears that Gpa was the star of the show.  Bella and Leo got new chairs and Bella was adamant about eating her dinner outside, picnic-style with her new chair despite the chill!

Spring break

Fel and Bel hit the road this weekend to KC to hang out with Abuela, Abuelo, and Peppa Pig.  They had a blast!

Leo and I took it easy.  We got his hair cut (he held very still, but screamed the whole time) and picked up some sunscreen.  He learned to propel himself backwards in the cozy coupe and loved digging in the dirt while I pulled weeds.  I got a lot for momma time to wash and wash and wash even more laundry and read a novel.

On the mend. . . . .

We sent Leo back to school on Friday and he practically jumped out of Felipe's arms, I guess he missed his friends!  We are very thankful for Abuelo's help all week.  This was a long virus.

To celebrate everyone feeling better we went to the playground, ordered some pizza, and played outside.  It is absolutely gorgeous!

I ordered the kids and I some new summer sandals this morning.  I can't wait for them to come!

Saturday

Yesterday, fel had a urology meeting in Kansas City and Bella woke up with a fever and cough. I was totally dreading the day, but it turned out to be really sweet. The weather was nice enough to have a lunch picnic outside and we got to wander around the neighborhood.

Last weekend. . . . .

Last weekend was SO full of fun I didn't get to snap up any pictures.  Saturday morning we went to a birthday party at the fire station. Both kiddos had a blast, but managed to avoid the group photo opportunity.

Fel and I went on a delicious date Saturday night.  The new babysitter seemed great, but Bella still misses her old one.  Trying to brainstorm ways we can have Miss Kelsey back safely. . . . .

Sunday the Rosso's came to visit, Bella had a BLAST and her new peppy pig doll has managed to put Minnie Mouse in the corner. . . .for now.  Sunday night we had milkshakes for dinner with Chester.  By then we were pretty worn out and sassy (Bella that is, I'm never sassy).

This week is off to a great start.  It's been a blur and I'm already counting down the days until the weekend is here again. . . .and our Mexico in May trip.

B has a new game where she has magic and can fix things. Her imagination makes me giggle.  This girl is precious!

Another awesome weekend

Yesterday was Bella's Valentine pajama party.  I turned my back long enough to get Leo's dinner set up. . . . . .just enough time for Bella to become a candy monster, unwrapping every single candy and taking a bite!

This morning we had good friends over for a play date.  Makes me so happy to have "family friends" where the momma's, the papa's, and the kiddos all get along.  That type of friendship is so rare.

February

February has flown by in a blur.  We had some amazing weather, a fun visit with GG and gpa, and went to a wild and crazy Mardi Gras party.  I LOVE dressing up!  Still working out some kinks on posting pics to the blog, but GG has placed a request I keep the blog flowing so will do my best.

This weather has been awesome!  We have been trying to take advantage before tomorrow's rain and Tuesday's snow.

New iPad

Haven't quite figured out this blogger thing on the new iPad, but having a keyboard is definitely key.  As many of you know, I've started the year that I've affectionately dubbed "my quarter-life crisis."  Maybe 1/3 life crisis is more appropriate. . . . . . .Anyways, I want this year to be about saying yes, having fun, taking reasonable risks (such as with my hair) and just going for it.  Cheers!
