Fel & I's spring break is off to a great start. We watched Wolf of Wall street Friday, met up with some college friends and their kiddo's in Lawrence on Saturday, drove up to KC on Sunday to hang out with the in-laws, and had a delicious brunch today. Can't wait for the rest of the week.
This blog chronicles the day to day life of 2 physicians, 2 kiddos, and 2 kitties for better or for worse. . . .

First ever fast food
Yes, that is a cheeseburger in one hand and a chicken nugget in the other. Life will never be the same.

Pie Day
Every season Deb Dobeck and I get together to make a season pie from an amazing cookbook - today's recipes included chamomile buttermilk and lemon sour cream. They are currently cooling and I can't wait to dig in!
Yesterday Miss Bella amazed us all by putting on her socks. I think this could lead to hours of entertainment, sock on, sock off, sock on, sock off (ala karate kid;)

Our little artist
Miss B loves to color with her crayons (thus far, it has only been on her table and in her coloring books. No wall murals;)
Made it to the Farmer's Market this morning where I got some fresh eggs, homemade maple oatmeal bread, garden veggie cheese, and a pound of ground pork to make fel's favorite pork lettuce wraps. Thus far I have majorly bombed my New Year's resolution to buy local and support small businesses, but as the farmer's market heats up I think I'm going to do better.
Also on the menu this weekend - -
Farmer's Casserole
Strawberry Swirl pound cake
Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans - let's hope it doesn't snow tomorrow or it could be some cold grilling.
Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts - is it brussels sprouts or brussel sprouts??

Happy Fake Paddy's Day
So evidently Spring Break and St. Patty's day conflict here in Manhattan, KS. Rather than deprive the college coeds of craziness and debauchery, Aggieville has created Fake Paddy's Day celebrated the weekend before Spring Break. I was warned by almost a dozen people (including our landlord!) to stay in and stay safe, which we have done.
Yesterday we did venture out for a bit to the grocery store to get ingredients for Pumpkins pancakes and bison burgers. We had gotten our Ship&Dip monthly box with several delish condiments to put on top.
Today, we had some new friends and their son over for brunch and playtime which was a total hit. The kiddo's played, the adults chatted (about their kiddos's no less). Maybe for our next Fake Paddy's Day brunch I'm going to create a new drinking game, every time you talk about your kids you have to take a drink. . . . .
