Yesterday we moved in Bella's slide for winter and she has already been up and down many times - such a big girl!
This blog chronicles the day to day life of 2 physicians, 2 kiddos, and 2 kitties for better or for worse. . . .

Happy Thanksgiving!
Had a wonderful day in KC yesterday with the Rosso family. We decided to forego the turkey in favor of ajiaco - a scrumptious Colombian soup. All I had to make was a pumpkin pie -which I tried to multitask in the middle of feeding Bella and taking hospital call. This momma learned that she certainly can do it all if you are willing to eat a rather toasty piecrust. Leftover soup was perfect for lunch today.
I also spent a significant amount of time online scoring some black friday deals - flannel sheets for Fel and I and several christmas pressies for little B.
My folks are headed in later this evening, which means Fel and I will get a date night tomorrow. What better way to spend the holidays than with a free babysitter?
Check out Bella's latest art project (which Jackson promptly ate).

Time flies. . . . . .
I wish I could finish the title . . . . .when you're having fun, but the past week has not been so fun. I had my first weekend of call, which went amazingly. But I still would have preferred not being on call and being able to stay home and relax with the fam. We did find time to enjoy the weather and take Bella to the park. She has discovered slides and loves going down all by herself like a big girl - feet first, head first, on her tummy. She actually went down the slide until she puked - - oops! Looking back, that may have been the start of the GI bug Felipe and I both caught. Luckily I had the day off today, so I got to spend it in bed recovering.
Think Bella will be this mischievous some today?

Raspberry fingers
A while back I used to amaze Bella by sticking raspberries on the tips of my fingers. Well, now she's amazing us by recreating the stunt.

Two peas in a pod
This little lady knows where her nose is, and your nose is, and the kitties nose is. . . . . . .
She also loves to push her chair over to the kitchen sink to wash her hands and carry a little dishrag around to clean any messes she might find. She's also quite handy with putting things in the trashcan.
Her favorite food is still berries, but teddy grahams are becoming a very close second.

Did ya miss me?
Gosh! I just realized no blogging for the past week. Each day has been a blur, essentially a repeat of the day before. Miss Bella got her vaccinations on Tuesday - 4 shots! She took them like a champ and immediately cheered up when presented with a balloon. Unfortunately yesterday she was quite sore and fussy, needing me to bring her some baby advil to daycare during my lunch break. Today she is doing much better, but is still a little worn out (currently taking a late afternoon nap upstairs while I type this post.) Her diaper rash is almost gone and we discovered that she has 2 upper molars. Work is going well for me, my schedule books up 2 weeks in advance which keeps me busy. Nice to know I'm in demand! Felipe has completed 7 robotic prostatectomies since starting work and is the talk of the town (literally - I think he's going to rotary club next month to promote himself.) Can't believe the holidays are just around the corner. I already know exactly what I want - some snuggly new loungewear and time to lounge with family. Sigh.

Looking Back
2012.
Adjusting to life as a mommy. Celebrated Bella's first Thanksgiving!
2011.
Got my first taste of private practice, moonlighting for a week in Belleville.
2010.
Thought about adopting a little puppy (loki). Had some fun playdates, but then got some sense. Thank goodness. Could you imagine a high energy pup, 2 kitties, and now a baby?!?!?
2009.
Bought our first Christmas tree - a skinny, pre-lit stunner and hosted a Garber/Rosso Thanksgiving bringing the 2 fams together. Also went on a fun fall trip to NYC and Providence, RI.
2008.
Took Fel to Hutch for a Garber Thanksgiving.
